• Site: http://www.linkedin.com.

• Purpose: Stay informed about your contacts and industry; find people and knowledge to achieve your goals; control your professional identity online.

• Customize: Add a picture. Also, depending on what applications you add, LinkedIn will change the way the profile is viewed.

• Notes: In the recent economy, many companies have turned to LinkedIn to look for job candidates, and the unemployed have used it to search for jobs.

• Advice: Bob Coppenhaver, LinkedIn presenter, (http://www.linkedin.com/in/bobcoppenhaver):

Focus on building out your network of people who can speak about your accomplishments and capabilities. Also, take time to help others in your network. Give recommendations to people you respect and ask for recommendations from people who can speak of your accomplishments and value proposition.

LinkedIn allows you to view the people your connections are linked to. Review those connections before meeting someone face to face so you can help them to help you.

Check your LinkedIn contacts before applying for a job or meeting a company to do business. Perhaps you already know someone who works there, and if not, you probably know someone who knows someone who works there.

Use the ”Groups” capability within LinkedIn to find other people with shared interests. You can share news and create discussions within a group without being directly connected to individual group members.

Voice of the Customer (VOC)

Customers often do not know, or can not communicate effectively, their actual needs and requirements. Even if they can, it is often difficult for them to extrapolate their future needs and requirements as their market changes. It is through Voice of the Customer where we can identify the future strategic direction of our customers and how we can build the future products and services to make them successful. This document offers an overview of the VOC process and a series of guidelines on how you can create a successful VOC initiative.
